Panoramas - NaturalWestPhotoramas
This is Peyto (sounds like "pee-toe") Lake, on the Icefields Parkway, between Lake Louise and Jasper, Alberta, Canada.
(Note: there is some shape distortion in this image, resulting from the use of a wide-angle lens and stretching to join the images into a panorama.)

The lake really is this colour (or close to it), which is created by light refracting in microscopic flakes of mica in the "rock flour", which the glaciers scour from the underlying rock as they descend.

There are many other spectacular sights along the Icefields Parkway. The Rocky Mountains are being uplifted by movement of the tectonic plates on which they sit, but are simultaneously being eroded by glaciers, rockfalls and other events.
